Dr. Sarah (Olmschenk) Biggar has been interested in eyes and optometry ever since grade school. Having worn glasses and contacts since the fourth grade, Dr. Biggar has a close connection with her hometown optometrist. Ever since her first pair of glasses, she has been motivated to give the gift of clear vision to others.
Dr. Biggar grew up on a farm in rural Minnesota and received her undergraduate degree in biology from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She then traveled to Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, to obtain her doctorate degree in optometry. In both endeavors she graduated with honors and distinction.
Dr. Biggar has completed a series of clinical internships. Her time spent at the Optometric Vision Development Center in La Jolla, California further honed her skills in vision therapy, and gave her insight into the role of vision in learning and development. At Allina Medical Clinic in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Dr. Biggar became efficient in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and many more. Family practice is Dr. Biggar's passion, and she had the opportunity to see patients of all ages at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Together with husband, David, Dr. Biggar enjoys many outdoor activities such as fishing, biking, camping, sailing, water skiing, and snowboarding. They have a young daughter, Jenna, and love spending time with her as well.
